Dilly here: as part of the process of developing a bit of animation one would perform the role to be animated. I recorded this multiple shot rehearsal of a Japanese demon called an "Oni" for "Goose in High Heels". The footage is used to study movement and timing and perhaps launch inspiration. Careful when conjuring demons... I am not a superstitious person, however when I started this sequence my HD crashed losing hours of work, my Cintiq failed, I injured my back, neck and jammed my finger... I tore up the mask and braved completion of the sequence. Is it possible to evoke the very spirit of evil with our intentions?
